Product description

Kaleido ColorWorks Airbrush Thinner KT101 is a airbrush thinner for adjusting the working consistency of your paint, supplied in a 60ml. bottle. Use it as a focused stage in your painting process, considering the model, your equipment and the finish you want to achieve.

Airbrush Thinner lets you adjust the working consistency of paint to your airbrush and spraying approach. Kaleido colours are pre-thinned, so additional thinning is not required for every application. Start with a spray test. If you want to thin the paint further, make small adjustments and examine how they affect both the spray pattern and the layer left on your test component.

The amount of thinner required relates to the paint, nozzle, spraying distance and intended application. A large colour panel calls for different control from a narrow line or a small model detail. A universal ratio therefore does not automatically suit every situation. Measure or record additions when you find a useful combination, making it easier to repeat the approach on a subsequent component.

Mix the paint and thinner carefully before assessing the spray pattern. Use a clean paint cup or a suitable mixing container, adding only the quantity you need for the session. This avoids changing an entire bottle of paint for the sake of a small test. Check that your tools and mixing container are also free from residue left by a previous colour or painting auxiliary.

During the test, look at the layer remaining on the surface as well as the atomisation. A change in consistency may mean you need to adjust your movement or how you build the layer. Apply paint with control and inspect the result between passes. Changing several settings at once makes it more difficult to identify which adjustment improved the result on your test part.

When painting several model panels, a repeatable approach is helpful. Note the colour, the amount you added and the airbrush setting that worked for your test. Then assess whether colour and coverage look consistent on the actual component. This approach is useful for bodywork, mecha models and other projects where adjoining surfaces need a coherent appearance when you assemble and display the finished kit.

Plan thinning as a stage before spraying. Have the required colours, mixing tools and test components ready so you can evaluate the mixture without rushing. Close the bottle after dispensing and keep the packaging clearly identifiable on the workbench. Clean your airbrush after the session using a product intended for cleaning. Thinner and cleaner each have their own role in that sequence.

Keep the test piece used to assess the mixture beside your workspace. Compare it again during the next coat to check that the colour and layer build remain consistent with your earlier choice. This is especially helpful when a project is spread across several separate painting sessions.

The 60ml. capacity is a practical choice when you want a manageable bottle on the workbench. Dispense a small quantity and close the packaging afterwards. For an initial test, set aside only what you need so you can assess the product calmly at the relevant stage of the project before committing to a larger application.

This auxiliary suits model builders who want a considered painting process, from the first test to the final component. Beginners can use it to understand a specific stage in their workflow. Experienced users can incorporate it into an established routine. In either case, a spare test part remains useful for checking decisions before continuing on a complete model or an important visible surface.
