Tamiya Clear Blue X-23 is a transparent, high-gloss bright blue acrylic paint often used in wargaming for creating blue helmet visors, vehicle glass, or laser beams. It is precisely the contrast between the relatively matte acrylic paints and this high-gloss blue paint that makes the colors extra realistic.
Tamiya Clear Blue X-23 is an acrylic paint, but it reacts differently than average acrylic paints such as Vallejo, Citadel, or P3. Tamiya Clear Blue dries more slowly. Initially, it will remain a thick mass, allowing it to flow nicely. Therefore, it takes some getting used to and experimenting to see how it works for you.
Tamiya Clear Blue X-23 dilutes well with water, but it can also be perfectly mixed with, for example, black, brown, green, or purple inks or acrylic paints to add some nuances to the glazes.
For example, by mixing Tamiya Clear Blue X-23 with UHU Twist and Glue, you can achieve stunning slime effects. This allows you to create "strands" of slime that drip from zombies' entrails, or gives recently injured characters realistic wounds.
Tamiya Clear Blue X-23 is irritating to the skin, so it is advisable for so-called brush lickers to take care of this. Clean the brush thoroughly with water before using it for another paint.
