Scale75 Scalecolor Nacar is part of the Scalecolor program of the Scale75 brand, made for brush and airbrush and is a gray acrylic paint in a 17ml. eyedropper jar.
This grey paint consists of very fine pigments and a strong acrylic resin with properties of extreme mattness. Scalecolor is a liquid acrylic paint that has been developed for application with both a brush and an airbrush and is available in a wide range of colours. The covering power and the extra matt finish of Scalecolor is superior to almost all known acrylic paints for miniatures.
The medium used for this grey acrylic paint colour has a super matte finish, but is quite thick so we recommend using an agitator ball and shaking well before use. The paint is fantastic for standard layering and blending, but is also very useful as a glaze due to the perfect amount of pigment used. Scalecolor adheres exceptionally well to all surfaces. Once the grey paint is protected with varnish, (Gloss, Matte or Satin) Scalecolor can be painted over with solvent based paints such as enamels or oil paints. Colours can be mixed or thinned with water or any medium such as varnish, to achieve the desired effect. This also makes it possible to use the paint with an airbrush. The paint is virtually clumpy. The paint dries quite quickly and can be a little more difficult for a novice painter to use due to the thickness of the medium, but it does give a great result.
The unique thing about this grey paint is that it comes in a so-called "eyedropper" jar containing 17ml. acrylic paint. The "eyedropper" ensures that the amount of paint can be dosed very easily and that the paint does not dry out so quickly. Of course, it can always happen that the opening sometimes gets a little clogged. You can easily solve this by using a needle or thin cocktail stick to clear the opening.
