How is a Color Wheel used?

The color circle or the color wheel is printed on both sides and consists of 3 discs. That can be rotated and through the recesses explanation is given about the colors.

Front Color Wheel

The outer ring indicates the primary (red, yellow, blue), the secondary (orange, green, purple) and tertiary colors. The turntable on top indicates various options. For example, what color is created when a color of the outer circle is mixed with red, yellow or blue. It also indicates how the color changes when white or black is added.
In addition, there is some basic color theory described on the front.

Rear Color Wheel

The reverse side of the color circle indicates the best color combinations according to different methods and it indicates the highlight, midtone and shade of a color.

By turning the top disc, the best combination is immediately clear and helps you choose the right colors in your palette.

• Complementary: Which two colors in the spectrum are opposite each other and ensure the greatest color contrast?
• Split complementary: Which two adjacent colors are complementary to 1 main color?
• Triad: Which colors are distributed parallel over the color spectrum and thus ensure better harmony?
