Scalecolor is a liquid acrylic paint developed for both brush and airbrush application and is available in a wide range of colours. The opacity and extra matt finish of Scalecolor is superior to almost all known acrylic paints for miniatures. The medium used for this grey-blue acrylic paint colour has a super matte finish, but is quite thick so we recommend using an agitator ball and shaking well before use. Colours can be mixed or diluted with water or any medium such as varnish to achieve the desired effect. This also makes it possible to airbrush the paint. The paint is virtually clumpy. The paint is fantastic for standard layering and blending, but is also very useful as a glaze due to the perfect amount of pigment used. Scalecolor adheres exceptionally well to all surfaces. Once the grey-blue paint is protected with varnish, (Gloss, Matte or Satin) Scalecolor can be painted over with solvent based paints such as enamels or oil paints. The paint dries quite quickly and can be a little more difficult for a novice painter to work with due to the thickness of the medium, but it does give a great result.
The "eyedropper" (or eye dropper) ensures that the amount of paint can be dosed very easily and that the paint does not dry out so quickly. The unique thing about this grey-blue paint is that it is supplied in a so-called "eyedropper" jar containing 17ml. acrylic paint. Of course, it can always happen that the opening sometimes gets a little clogged. You can easily solve this by using a needle or thin cocktail stick to clear the opening.
